SEXUAL EXPOSURE

Sex is an unspoken communication of what the heart want to say. An erotic feeling which begin long in the child"s life especially during his teen years, and probably discover them more or less by accident.
Majority of our teen-agers involve themselves in all sought of illicit affairs such as all forms of sexual abuses, obsession like homosexuality, lesbianism, infatuation and every other acts of immorality and lust. Failure to curb this situation early, may lead to misconduct in the later part of their lives. Do you agree without question that the greatest cause of increase in sexual immorality in the society today where singles, and married couples engage in this illicit act is anxiety, which occur in their early life.
A child may desire certain amount of satisfaction by manipulating his sexual organs. All these period of psycho sexual development are normal, but these secret acts of sexual excitement becomes his character when carried to excess, and may plague him to the end of his days.
As earlier said, the period of life when these sexual feelings , and romantic emotion first become strong is at teen-age years, and many of them are all too eager to experiment sex which lead to wrong conduct. He seeks for the information from his parents and many parents are embarrassed to explain about sex to their children. Fortunately, he got the information from somewhere, but such sources are often faulty, and sometimes they are downright immoral.
The lack of adequate sex education is a major factor. This is not a medico education expose anyway, rather it is strictly aimed at highlighting some sensitive areas of human life that attract a vital interest in parents, guidance, teachers and counselors in the upbring of youngster. It is also vital when viewed along side the rate of moral decadence in our society, broken homes, unwanted pregnancies, abortions, children without father, social deviance and sexually transmitted diseases which has lead to widespread frustrations among the teen-agers in the later part of their lives.

What to Do
  1. He should avoid the habit of masturbating. This harmful behaviour tends him to be secretive, living a kind of dream world where fantasy plays a dominant role.
  2. His mind should be filled with noble and uplifting thought.
  3. A child's curiosity to know about sex is perfectly normal, and parents should tell him the "facts of life." The earlier he understands those things, the less trouble he is likely to get into in life.
  4. The dangers of premature sex relations should be related to the child as she may be a school dropout as a result of unwanted pregnancy or a carrier of deadly sexually transmitted diseases e.g AIDS.
  5. A child should be discouraged from watching immoral films and pornographic pictures as he/she may become a lesbian, homosexual, prostitute etc
  6. Teen-agers should understand that sex is sacred, and mean't for only the married.
